Is a diverse and highly skilled group, proficient in a wide range of techniques, including machine learning (ML), graph technologies, advanced visualisations, classical statistics and data engineering. The team consists of Data Scientists and Engineers with expertise which spans both the foundational and applied aspects of Data Science, enabling a comprehensive approach to solving complex problems.

Data Capability Foundations

The team’s capabilities are rooted in two key areas: Applied Mathematics and Data Operations. Applied Mathematics leverages cutting-edge research to develop innovative solutions and drive exceptional outcomes. Core competencies within Applied Mathematics include:

AI Assurance

Data Operations

Supports the team by ensuring that all activities comply with legal, ethical, and logistical requirements. Key areas within Data Operations include:

  • Data (and AI) Governance
  • MLOps
  • Data Engineering

Forensics

Applies data science to investigations and legal contexts. Specialisations include:

  • Digital & Cyber Forensics (e.g., Metaverse, IoT)
  • Linguistic Forensics in collaboration with the University of Manchester
  • Criminology using graph databases and analytics

Discovery

Focuses on advanced search and recommendation technologies. Areas of expertise include:

  • Semantic Search & Recommendations (e.g., LLM fine-tuning)
