Last week, Phininder Balaghan was invited to be on a Panel at RUSI's inaugural Serious and Organised Crime Conference (SOCC) (https://lnkd.in/e7VM5SyZ), joined by Professor Heather Marquette and Dr. Rajan Basra with the panel being chaired by Dr. Bill Merill.

He was discussing the importance of Collaboration across sectors in tackling Serious and Organised crime.

Talking about the conference, Phini said:

"I cannot stress how important it is that we work across Government, Academia and Industry to ensure that we are ahead of our adversaries, and it was great to share my views with the audience!

To re-iterate, I challenge the three sectors in different ways....

-Industry. We must continue to invest (or increase investing!) in how we can work together with Academia to be able to bring the best mission impact to Gov's challenges.

-Academia. You must become more agile, be ready to respond more quickly (even if the actual research will take a few months - years).

-Government. Invest time into understanding the different needs and requirements from Industry and Academia.

We must continue to work together, especially in the world of AI, whereby AI can be used in ways that we cannot imagine right now!

A huge thanks to Cathy and team for organising such an amazing event - I'm really looking forward to the next one!
