October was National Menopause Month and we at Naimuri ran a Menopause in the workplace breakfast event with the ever-engaging Sarah from Mind the Gap Academy.

Menopause has always been around, but menopausal women are now the fastest growing workforce demographic.
Up to a third of women will experience severe menopausal symptoms that can impact on their quality of life.

It is in the work context that women often report greater difficulty in managing symptoms and can feel embarrassed and unable to disclose their menopausal status, fearing they may be stigmatised for being menopausal.

The most commonly reported difficulties that menopausal women report at work include poor concentration, tiredness, poor memory, feeling low/depressed and lowered confidence.

Problematic hot flushes at work have also been linked to women having a higher intention to leave the workforce.

Opening up a comfortable space for conversations in the workplace, are key to employees feeling supported during this period of their life.

Let's keep this once taboo topic going and support our employees, as they navigate this period in their lives.

Here's a short video of our workplace.
