Diversity E&I

At Naimuri, our mission is to make the UK a safer, better and inclusive place to be. We have a firm commitment to advancing, cultivating and preserving a culture of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB), as this will not only make Naimuri a positive and supportive environment but will also enhance creativity, innovation, strong community engagement and better overall performance.

Our aim is to attract the best talent, empowering individuals to bring their authentic selves to work each day, while ensuring the value they contribute is recognised and celebrated throughout our organisation.

The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Power Group was established  to champion DEI initiatives within Naimuri, providing a platform for employees passionate about DEI to contribute to and shape Naimuri’s ongoing commitment to DEI.

This year, the DEI Power Group focused on a variety of events, and some of the key events organised by the Power Group were:

  • Culture Diversity Day
  • South Asian Heritage Month
  • Black History Month
  • A podcast for International Women’s Day

We recognise and value the unique contributions our neurodiverse employees bring to the business. We have also considered ways to better support our neurodivergent colleagues by raising awareness of the various types of neurodiversity and their benefits. Moving forward, we aim to foster greater collaboration, leveraging our collective strengths to develop creative, innovative and value-driven solutions for our clients.

As part of the wider QinetiQ community, we have actively  contributed to DEI initiatives within QinetiQ. This includes our involvement in the Gender Balance Group, the Carers Group, where our DEI Lead Ruth Mills, shared her personal experiences as a carer and the  JustLike-Q group, which supports our LGBTQ+ employees.

For 2025, we look forward to continuing our commitment to advancing DEI within Naimuri, with a renewed focus on employee education and dialogue. This will include in-person and hybrid events designed to create safe spaces for discussions, provide opportunities to celebrate differences and embrace our similarities.

Our DEI Power Group has an exciting variety of initiatives planned, some of them including:

  • International Day of Women and Girls in Science: Celebrating the contributions and achievements of women and girls in science and encourage future generations to pursue STEM fields
  • International Mother Language Day: Honouring linguistic diversity and promoting the use of mother languages to preserve cultural heritage
  • Ramadan: Recognising and supporting our Muslim colleagues during this holy month of fasting, reflection and community
  • Eid al-Fitr: Celebrating the end of Ramadan with festive gatherings and activities that embrace cultural diversity
  • Carer’s Awareness Week: Highlighting the vital role of carers and providing support and recognition of their invaluable contributions
  • DEI Podcasts: Producing podcasts that explore diverse DEI topics
  • Show and Tells: Hosting interactive sessions to discuss a wide range of DEI topics, share experiences and foster open dialogue

At Naimuri, we are deeply committed to fostering a culture of DEIB. By embracing and celebrating our differences, we create a strong, more innovative and empathetic community. We look forward to implementing these initiatives and witnessing the positive impact they will have on our teams and the wider community. Together, we can build a more inclusive and equitable future.
