A day in the life of an Executive Assistant....

Sadie Hiard / Executive Assistant to the Managing Director | 24/01/2023

What is your role?
Executive Assistant to the Managing Director

How long have you worked at Naimuri?
Two years.

What attracted you to come and work at Naimuri?
The Culture.

How did you find the recruitment process?
Ian Wilson is a credit to the recruitment process.
It was simple and you are kept up to date in an efficient manner, throughout the whole process. You can tell from the outset that the company is on your side and wants to show just how important the culture is to Naimuri.

Briefly describe what you do day-today?
No two days are the same for me.

I have my main duties such as diary management for the senior leadership members and organising their inboxes, so that things are prioritised correctly.

I also have my ‘fingers in many pies’ within the business, such as helping with recruitment to make sure the new starters have a smooth start and are given all the information they need during their first few weeks.

I help collaborate with the power groups within Naimuri, so that the members can achieve their goals to help grow the culture and happiness of the staff.

I always like to be hands-on with anyone within the business.

Naimuri is a family where we all lookout and support each other.

What interested you in a career in technology?
I don't come from a technical background, however I have found it to be such a fascinating world and all the staff are so intelligent and will be willing to show you how things work, so you have a better understanding of the great work Naimuri delivers.

What are the top five skills you need to do your job well?

  • Organisation

  • Good time keeping

  • Passion for people

  • Excel knowledge

  • Great literacy skills.

What is the best thing about Naimuri?
The feeling of togetherness.

What is the career progression like?
You can always progress. No door is closed to those who are willing to push themselves.

What makes Naimuri different from other technology companies?
The sense of community, you are never alone.

What are your career aspirations?
I would love to continue my growth by one day being part of the SLT, through learning more technical skills and increasing my knowledge of the more senior role requirements.

Do you think there is enough education at school about careers in tech?
No.

What advice would you give to someone considering applying for a job at Naimuri?
It's the best thing you will ever do.
The sense of belonging and complete support from everyone makes the work more worthwhile.
You will feel valued in a way you wouldn't have in the past.
